History
HIP’92 started with its first activities at the end of 1991. People who were working for the Youth-service of the community of Opmeer had the idea to organise an exchange with people from outside The Netherlands.
They held the first exchange during the summer of 1992. This was the start of HIP and a new organisation was born. Since the beginning in 1992, HIP has organised several exchanges in Hoogwoud and also has taken part in several exchanges all over Europe.
Pardoes
Our Youth-centre is Pardoes. It’s located in Hoogwoud, a town in North Holland. This location is where most of the activities are held. Our participants from abroad stay during the project with host-families in Hoogwoud and Opmeer. We organise typical activities, such as:
cycling on your own bike through the countryside, mudwalking on the bottom of the sea, a trip to the capital Amsterdam and sitting around a camp fire at the Pardoes.
The exchange will be closed with a Coloured Evening were we share our cuisines.
Erasmus+
The exchanges are financially supported by Erasmus+ for the European Youth in Europe. We also need to finance a part of the exchange activities by ourselves. For this we organise several fundraising activities throughout the year.
